Acai Berry Warning about Online Offers
July 31st, 2009 | by admin |
Acai berry warning articles about online offers have become even more numerous recently. The warnings mainly concern so-called “free trials” that end up costing consumers hundreds of dollars.
These online scams sell acai-related products, promising that they can prevent cancer, enhance your sex life, and help you lose weight. The companies get your credit card number and then make it almost impossible to stop the recurring charges.
Once consumers realize their cards are being charged every month, they call the customer service line of these companies only to be put on hold for hours.
The scams have gotten so bad and so prolific that the attorney general of Connecticut has issued a formal warning against them, as has the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a consumer advocacy group.
